OpenID by TrustBearer
OpenID is an open standard adopted by several major companies that eliminates the need for multiple usernames and passwords for different websites by using a single OpenID. By default OpenID supports username and password authentication and is prone to common phishing and man-in-the-middle attacks. TrustBearer Labs extended OpenID to both support strong authentication and thwart these common attacks using its TrustBearer Access platform.
We enabled OpenID with TrustBearer Access to create OpenID by TrustBearer. With minor development effort - OpenID now supported millions of smart cards and hardware authentication devices with more devices being supported on a weekly basis. It is less susceptible to phishing attacks and virtually unsusceptible to man-in-the-middle attacks.
With TrustBearer Access, any web-based application can be quickly enabled to use hardware authentication devices in a simple and self-service model without requiring any changes to the authentication device itself nor does it require complex back-end changes.
