Deep Grey Labs have just launched our first product out of private beta: tiinker (http://tiinker.com). tiinker is an intelligent news aggregator which learns what you like reading and selects articles tailored to each individual user's interests. It reduces the amount of content you need to sift through to find the stories which really interest you. tiinker works out what you are interested in by determining what each story is about and matching this to your interests. It doesn't (just) use social recommendation.

tiinker improves on applications based on centralized editing or social recommendation because it learns what each individual likes, rather than assuming that you have the same interests as everyone else, or exactly share interests with a broad group.
