Google has just launched Android. Actually, The open Handset Alliance is developing Android. The Open Handset Alliance is a group of 30 tech and mobile companies, like T-mobile, sprint, Do-Co-Mo, Samsung, Google, etc, trying to develop a complete, free and open source mobile platform.

They are offering an early look at the Android SDK. The SDK can be downloaded from http://code.google.com/android/download.html

Google has announced the Android Developer Challenge and offering $10 million to developers for great mobile apps built on Android Platform.

The Android SDK has all that is needed to build and run android applications. Android allows developers to access core mobile functionalities using standard API calls.

Very few people know that Android was a separate company until around August 2005 when Google acquired it. Android was started in 2003 and the smart people at Android kept a very low profile about their. Hence, very little is known about them.

I think Android is interesting to work on especially for doing something in mobile space and also when Google is offering money to develop your idea.

Oh man! but you can only do development using android if you know Java. That's not sooo cool.

And if they offer money to do something that means they don't have confidence in it.. Yup I love iPhone. The android video is so boring and it is not doing anything which iPhone currently isnt.
